The $432 billion-asset bank does not currently have a significant presence in Atlanta, though it does have a Capital One Café in the greater Atlanta area.

Capital One spokesperson Marissa Davis said the company is “proud to be a part of the community in Atlanta and the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood,” where the Ponce City Market is located. The building was once a Sears, Roebuck & Co. store and distribution center.

Atlanta has been home in recent years to numerous fintech companies, including GreenSky, which was acquired by Goldman Sachs last year, and Kabbage, which was bought by American Express in 2020.

Capital One’s new Atlanta office follows an announcement from Visa that it would open an office in the city, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The credit reporting agency Equifax also has its headquarters in Atlanta.
