ATLANTA - First Union National Bank of Georgia will begin installing 125 automated teller machines at three retailing chains starting in mid- July.
The First Union Corp. affiliate is installing the ATMs in QuikTrip's 43 Atlanta-area convenience stores. Installations at 82 Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores in Georgia will begin in August and should be completed by the end of October, the bank said.
First Union now has 173 ATMs in Georgia.
"Customers are indeed looking for alternatives to visiting brick-and- mortar bank branches and are stressing the need for convenience in their banking transactions," said James Hicks, First Union's statewide executive for consumer banking.
