Card Briefs: ASB First in New Zealand with Visa's Interlink

SAN FRANCISCO - ASB Bank has become the first bank in New Zealand to issue Interlink debit cards.

Visa International, which owns the Interlink card program, said the bank is enhancing its 500,000 proprietary Cashflow cards with the Interlink and Plus logos to offer customers access to their cash while traveling abroad.

The switching and processing will be performed by Visa. ASB Bank will act as acquirer of Interlink and Plus transactions in New Zealand, allowing travelers there access to their accounts at 10,000 connected network terminals and 240 ASB automated tellers.
