Card Briefs: Drexler Technology Claims $936,000 Order

Drexler Technology Corp., which manufacturers optical memory cards and readers, said it has received an order worth $936,000.

The company said it was the second-largest order of LaserCard reader/writers and system software from a single customer. The company would not identify the customer.

Delivery is to be completed during Drexler's fourth quarter, ending March 31.

A LaserCard can store four megabytes of data, such as transaction information, text, software, photos, document images, and medical images. A personal computer and card reader/writer are required to read the plastic cards.
