Card Briefs: Griffin, Wells Launch Stanford ID-Card Project

FARMINGTON, N.Y. - Griffin Technology Inc. has launched an integrated campus-wide identification card project with Stanford University and Wells Fargo & Co.

The project allows students, faculty, and staff members on the Stanford campus in Palo Alto, Calif., to access the wide variety of custom-tailored financial products and services marketed by Wells Fargo with the same ID card they use to transact virtually all of their on-campus needs for goods and services.

Cardholders will be able to buy meals, use university services, access the library and initiate borrowing privileges, and have visual and electronic identity for a variety of privileges and entitlements on campus.

They can also use the same card to transfer funds through any of Wells Fargo's 2,200 automated teller machines, and those using a campus ID card integrated with their Wells Fargo bank account can make retail purchases at off-campus locations. As the campus-wide ID card program continues to expand, more and more applications will be added to the suite of products and services available to Stanford cardholders.
