MasterCard International, an official Nascar racing circuit sponsor, said it has joined the Salisbury, N.C.-based grocery chain Food Lion in a "Nascar SuperFan Challenge."

The six-week promotion began May 22 in more than 1,000 Food Lion stores. MasterCard said it would offer customers the opportunity to win three $10,000 prizes and 250 $250 prizes.

MasterCard's logo will be featured on in-store kiosks, point of sale mock-ups of racing cars, and 40-foot banners. The card association will be included in television and radio spots in 29 markets and in a Nascar circular distributed by Food Lion to about 13 million people.
