Card Briefs: Taiwan Bank Licenses Anti-Fraud System

Worldwide, said it has licensed the Prism fraud management system to Chinatrust Commercial Bank, the largest bank and credit card issuer in Taiwan.

The bank said it would use the Nestor fraud detection software, which uses neural network technology, on its portfolio of 1.6 million cardholders.

The program will be integrated with ACI's BASE24 processing system.

The Nestor-ACI tie gives the bank "the ability to handle increasing transaction volumes while monitoring them for current and emerging fraudulent schemes," said Don McLarty, vice president and general director of Asia-Pacific at Omaha-based ACI Worldwide.
