SAN FRANCISCO - Visa U.S.A. plans to kick off a National Football League sponsorship program this month with a Super Bowl sweepstakes promotion offering an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Super Bowl XXX in Tempe, Ariz.

The promotion is being held in partnership with Foot Locker, Sports Illustrated, and the NFL. Entry forms will be available at 1,300 Foot Locker stores nationwide. Foot Locker customers who use Visa cards for purchases of $50 or more will receive a Super Bowl poster with a tear-off entry form.

The sweepstakes is the beginning of a strategic NFL marketing program through which Visa plans to build volume for Visa banks and their merchants.

In other sports-related marketing, Visa will sponsor the 1996 Olympic Games and the 1996 Triple Crown.
