Cardtronics Inc. has agreed to manage Travelex Group's U.S. automated teller machine network.
The Houston ATM operator said it would provide transaction processing, cash management, cash replenishment, monitoring and maintenance services to the London foreign exchange and prepaid card company. The Travelex ATMs are expected to move to the Cardtronics system by yearend.
"Our partnership with Cardtronics will allow Travelex to provide our customers with improved ATM availability, security and services, while saving Travelex time and money," Dan Gilby, Travelex's global head of self-service, said in a press release Thursday. Travelex owns ATMs in more than a dozen major airports and in retail and business locations, but it did not say how many machines it has in the U.S.
