Cardtronics, Intuit Strike Deal

Cardtronics Inc. announced Monday an agreement to provide Intuit Inc.'s Pay Card and Refund Card customers surcharge-free access to its fleet of ATMs.

Cardtronics, of Houston, said those prepaid cardholders will be able to use its 43,000 Allpoint network ATMs without a fee.

Cardtronics automated teller machines are at retailers such as 7-Eleven Inc., Target Corp. and Costco Wholesale Corp.

"We're confident that our customers will have easy access to their money anywhere, anytime," Rich Preece, Intuit's director of product management and marketing, said in a press release.

Intuit's Refund Card is used for tax refunds and Pay Card is for payroll.

In February, Cardtronics said its fourth-quarter net income increased 375%, to $8 million.

Cardtronics credited deals, not unlike its most recent one with Intuit, for the higher profit.
