Catching the SBA Train at Calif. Bank of Commerce

California Bank of Commerce in Lafayette has hired a veteran credit administrator to help expand its small-business lending.

The $724 million-asset business bank said Wednesday that Kris Chandrasekar was recently appointed vice president of its Small Business Administration Lending division.

Chandrasekar will work to build a portfolio of loans in the San Francisco market. The bank has a branches in Lafayette, San Jose and Fremont.

"We are pleased to have Mr. Chandrasekar join our banking team at California Bank of Commerce as we continue to build a relationship-focused Bay Area commercial business bank," Terry Peterson, the bank's president and chief executive, said in a press release.

Chandrasekar was previously a vice president at Heritage Bank of Commerce in San Jose, where he worked as a credit manager in the business lending division since 1999, according to his LinkedIn profile.
