CB Bancshares Of Hawaii Signs Hirata as Chief Financial Officer

CB Bancshares in Honolulu has hired First Hawaiian Bank executive Dean K. Hirata as chief financial officer and a senior vice president.

He will also be CFO of City Bank and of International Savings and Loan, the two banking subsidiaries.

Mr. Hirata managed the controller's division at First Hawaiian and had responsibilities in its merger last year with BancWest Corp. Before joining First Hawaiian he was a senior manager at KPMG Peat Marwick.

At CB Bancshares he succeeded Daniel Motohiro, who will have a new assignment at the $1.4 billion-asset company. Mr. Hirata reports to Ron Migita, president and chief executive officer.
