CEO Resigns at Citizens Independent in Ohio

Ronald R. Reed has resigned as chief executive of Citizens Independent Bancorp in Logan, Ohio, and its bank unit.

Reed's resignation took effect Aug. 26, the $204 million-asset company said in a regulatory filing Tuesday.

No reasons for his exit were given, but it did not result from "any disagreement with the company or the board on any matter relating to the company's operations, policies or practices," according to the filing.

Chairman Donald Wood, a board member since 2012, will be interim president after the required regulatory approvals. Wood has 16 years of banking experience, including stints at Bank Ohio, Florida National Bank and WesBanco.

Citizens will conduct a search for a new leader to "execute on our strategic plan," which is designed "to aggressively exploit our unique market niche and to grow the bank," Wood wrote in a letter to shareholders.
