CheckFree Corp. has closed its acquisition of the Dallas software vendor Carreker Corp.

The Atlanta bill-pay provider announced in January that it would pay $206 million for Carreker, or $8.05 a share. CheckFree has said that it wants to offer a broader range of payments services, and that the Carreker deal is part of that plan, as is its deal to purchase the Hillsboro, Ore., online banking software vendor Corillian Corp.
The $245 million Corillian deal, announced in February, is expected to close June 1.
