Citigroup Inc. named Zion Shohet to be its treasurer and head of corporate finance as part of its overall effort to streamline its organization.
The move was announced in an internal memo from chief financial officer Gary Crittenden to senior staff and confirmed by a spokeswoman on Thursday. Mr. Shohet is head of strategy and mergers and acquisitions. As treasurer he succeeds Firoz Tarapore, who remains part of the treasury function, according to the spokeswoman.
In the memo, Mr. Crittenden wrote: "We plan to circulate the details of the North America Treasury organization structure and processes within the next 30 days. Until then, existing processes will remain in place."
