Citigroup Inc.’s card services unit agreed to issue a cobranded card for Shell Oil Products U.S. that will offer 5% rebates for all purchases for the first 60 days to cardholders who sign up this year.

After the promotional period, holders of the Shell Platinum MasterCard will receive 5% rebates for purchases at Shell stations and 1% for all other purchases, the Houston division of Royal Dutch-Shell Group said Monday.
The rebates will be credited in the cardholder’s monthly statement toward future gasoline purchases.
Shell Oil also said it would waive the annual fee for the first year.
After that, it will waive the fee for cardholders who use it at least nine times a year for Shell gas purchases.
