OAKLAND -- Citibank FSB, a subsidiary of Citicorp, said it has signed an agreement to sell the deposits of six branches of its California branch network to Great Western Bank, of Chats-worth, Calif., for an undisclosed price.
The six branches are in San Diego County; two branches are in the city of San Diego; the others are in Escondido, La Jolla, San Marcos, and Vista.
Part of Restructuring
Pending regulatory approval, the sale is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter.
The sale is part of a restructuring of the Citibank network in California, the bank said.
Citibank customer deposits will be consolidated into nearby Great Western Bank branches, and the Citibank branches will be closed.
After the sale is completed, Citibank will have 89 branches statewide.
