Citizens in Wis. Hires Investment Bank to Weigh Its Future

Citizens Community Bancorp in Eau Claire, Wis., has hired an investment bank to help it explore strategic options.

The $602 million-asset company said in a press release Friday that FIG Partners will help it evaluate ways to maximize shareholder value. While Citizens did not name specific options, investment banks can help with anything ranging from raising capital to selling a company.

"The company has not made a decision at this time to pursue any specific transaction or any other strategic option," the release said.

Citizens disclosed in May that Edward Schaefer would resign as its president and chief executive at the end of July. A committee was formed to find a successor.
