Coinstar Appoints Ex-Lenovo Exec CFO

Coinstar Inc. said J. Scott Di Valerio will be its next chief financial officer.

Di Valerio joined Coinstar Jan. 19 and will take over as its CFO on March 2, succeeding James Blanda, who is currently serving as its interim CFO.

Di Valerio was most recently president of the Americas at the Chinese computer company Lenovo Group Ltd.

Prior to that, he held a variety of positions with Microsoft Corp., Walt Disney Co., Mindwave Software Inc. and the consulting company PricewaterhouseCoopers.

"Scott brings with him a strong finance, management and business background with high-growth, world-class organizations," Paul Davis, the chief executive of the Bellevue, Wash., company said in a press release Wednesday.

Coinstar's previous CFO, John Harvey, left the coin-counting kiosk provider Nov. 9.

Coinstar said in September that Harvey planned to leave the company, because his job responsibilities required him to spend too much time away from his family.
