Commonwealth Bank Names Executive

Commonwealth Bank of Norristown, Pa., has named Karen S. Magurn as the vice president in charge of its supermarket banking division.

The bank, a subsidiary of $2.3 billion-asset Commonwealth Bancorp, has 20 supermarket branches.

Ms. Magurn was promoted from regional vice president for the bank's 19 branches in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties. Before joining Commonwealth she was director of corporate marketing at American Financial Mortgage Corp. in King of Prussia, Pa. She started in banking in 1977 as a computer operator for Philadelphia Savings Fund Society, and later became its vice president for business development.

Commonwealth named Diane Morris to succeed her in the regional vice presidency. Ms. Morris managed the Glenside branch for the last 13 years; earlier she was assistant manager of the Mayfair branch.
