Crisis Panel Lists Hearing Witnesses

The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission announced more witnesses who will appear during its first public hearing later this week.

The commission will hear from Attorney General Eric Holder, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chairman Sheila Bair and Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Mary Schapiro on Thursday.

It will also hear testimony from Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Colorado Attorney General John Suthers.

The commission will hold two days of hearings this week. It had already announced that top executives from Goldman Sachs Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Corp. will testify on Wednesday.

The commission, which was formed last summer, is expected to hold as many as nine hearings on the cause of the financial crisis. It is required to report its findings to Congress by December.
