Corporate Network eCom LLC, a Lenexa, Kan., credit union service organization, has agreed to resell mobile banking software from Metavante Technologies Inc.
The agreement, announced Monday by Metavante, a Milwaukee vendor, expands upon a similar deal announced last year covering online bill payment services.
Metavante developed its mobile banking software in partnership with Monitise PLC, and has created a U.S. joint venture offering Monitise technology in this country.
Metavante said the reseller agreement is aimed at credit unions that have yet to develop a mobile banking strategy.
"Aligning with Metavante for bill pay, and now mobile financial services, directly supports eCom's role as a payments aggregator," said Marcie Haitema, Corporate Network eCom's presiding manager and an executive vice president at U.S. Central, which owns a majority stake in it. "We believe mobile will be the key to success in" reaching the youth market often called Generation Y.
