Cuomo Presses AIG Chief on Bonuses

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo asked American International Group Inc. to provide details on who is receiving bonuses at AIG Financial Products, a unit he has blamed for the insurer's near-collapse last year.

In a letter Monday to Edward Liddy, AIG's chief executive, Cuomo requested a list of individuals who are to receive payments under the unit's retention plan, their job descriptions, information on their performance and copies of any contracts requiring the payments.

Cuomo said he is looking into whether any of the individuals receiving payments were involved in conduct that led to the insurer's troubles, whether the contracts may be unenforceable for fraud or other reasons and whether the payments may be consider fraudulent conveyances under state law.
