Date Reveals Disneyland Past

Before he was a Jeopardy champion, state attorney general or agency head, Richard Cordray worked at McDonald's — a perfectly respectable first job, especially if you grew up in the Midwest.

But growing up in Anaheim, Calif., Raj Date's early working days were decidedly more glamorous. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's No. 2 revealed last week that he got his first paying job at Disneyland.

His position: Jungle Cruise Guide.

"Welcome aboard the world famous Jungle Cruise," Date deadpanned at a speech in Los Angeles April 20. "My name is Raj and I’ll be your fearless skipper for the next 8 minutes and 15 seconds as we journey down the simulated tropical rivers of the world."

"Unfortunately for you, my skills as a public speaker haven't really progressed since then," he joked.
