Delk named as president of Watsonville Federal Savings.

Marshall G. Delk has been appointed president of Watsonville Federal Savings, Watsonville, Calif.

Mr. Delk succeeds William Meidl, who has retired D after 39 years with the DanK. Mr. Meidl continues as a member of the board of directors.

The new management team consists of Gene Friend, who has assumed the post of chief examtive officer and continues as chairman of the board of directors; Gary C. Tyack, senior vice president of retail banking; Deborah Chandler, senior vice president and the new chief financial officer; and Denis Poole, the new director of information systems.

Mr. Delk, formerly senior vice president and chief financial officer, has been with Watsonville Federal Savings since 1993. He has 17 years of accounting and finance experience, including 12 in the mortgage lending industry.

Mr. Friend, whose father was the bank's president from 1957 to 1967, has been on the board since for 27 years.

Mr. Tyack, who joined the bank in 1992 as assistant vice president of savings administration, has been named semor vice president of retail banking. He has 27 years of commercial banking and savings-and-loan experience.

Ms. Chandler, who recently joined Watsonville Federal as senior vice president and chief financial officer, brings 16 years of accounting and finance experience to the management team. She was formerly vice president and controller at U.S. Bank of California.

Mr. Poole is Watsonville Federal's first information systems director. He was formerly vice president of data processing for First National Mortgage Co., San Jose. He has 19 years of mortgage banking and information technology experience.
