Diebold to Maintain Citi ATMs in Russia

Diebold Inc. said it would service automated teller machines for Citigroup Inc. in Russia.

Citi's Russian unit, ZAO Citibank, agreed to use status monitoring, help desk, currency management, cash handling and other services from Diebold as part of a multiyear agreement. Diebold, of North Canton, Ohio, has also begun leasing new machines to Citi in Russia.

The servicing deal "will relieve the bank from engaging in the service support of the ATM network and will substantially lower its noncore operations expenses, allowing the bank to redirect and invest these resources into its principal business processes," Sergey Rasskazov, Diebold's general manager in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, said in a press release.
