Dime's Investment Chief Adding Second Title: COO

Dime Community Bancshares in Brooklyn, N.Y., said Friday that it has promoted Roberto Volino to chief operating officer.

Volino, the $5.8 billion-asset company's chief investment officer, will succeed Kenneth Mahon as operating chief on Jan. 1. Mahon is also Dime's president and CEO.

Volino joined Dime in 1999. He was named treasurer in 2009 and chief investment officer in 2014; he will retain the CIO position.

Mahon has been Dime's operating chief since February 2014. He was named president of the company in January and became its chief executive in June, when longtime CEO Vincent Palagiano announced he would retire at the end of the year.
