Elizabeth Warren Is a Commie, Sarah Palin Says

WASHINGTON — Bankers have called Elizabeth Warren a host of names, mostly in private, after she successfully convinced President Obama and Congress to create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

But former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin may have topped them all last week, when she declared Warren a communist after Democrats announced the Massachusetts Senate candidate would receive a prominent speaking role at the national convention.

"It's cracking me up watching what the Democrats, this idiotic strategy of theirs, to have Elizabeth Warren, who has almost confessed to her Marxist views," Palin told Fox News. "These views that replicate failed European countries about redistribution of wealth, you know, and all these failed policies and she is going to be the face of that message in the convention."

Palin referred to comments Warren has made — and Obama has echoed — that said private sector success is usually enabled by government spending and infrastructure. Republicans have tried to use the remarks against Warren, who is locked in a tight election contest with Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass.

Indeed, Fox News hosted 17 segments and spent more than 43 minutes of airtime blasting Warren over a three-day period after the Democratic National Committee selected her as a keynote speaker, according to liberal group Media Matters.
