EMC Insurance Group Inc. of Des Moines posted a quarterly dividend of $0.17 per share of common stock payable Sept. 17.
This is the 103rd consecutive quarterly dividend paid since EMC Insurance Group Inc. became a publicly held company in February 1982.
The company's board of directors also announced that George C. Carpenter III was elected chairman of the board, Margaret A. Ball was elected vice-chairwoman, and Gretchen H. Tegeler was elected as a member of the board.
Ms. Tegeler currently serves as Midwest division state vice president of the American Cancer Society for Iowa and South Dakota. She was formerly chief of staff to Iowa Gov. Terry E. Brandstad, and a former director of the Iowa Department of Management.
EMC Insurance owns subsidiaries with operations in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance.
