Ethnic CU Hires Banking Veteran

Polish and Slavic Federal Credit Union in New York has hired Oskar Mielczarek, an experienced banker, as its president and chief executive.

Mielczarek has been an executive with JPMorgan Chase & Co., Merrill Lynch & Co. and Barclays PLC, the credit union said. He speaks fluent Polish, English, Spanish and French, it said.

The institution is the nation's biggest ethnic credit union, with assets of $1.4 billion.
