NEW ENGLAND

Belmont Savings Bank in Massachusetts has hired Robert M. Mahoney as its president and chief executive officer.

Mahoney was the executive vice chairman at Citizens Financial Group where he oversaw commercial and New England banking, including banks in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and Connecticut. Before that he had been the president and CEO of Citizens Bank of Massachusetts.

Mahoney succeeds W. Ronald Rossi, who is retiring after 17 years as the $504 million-asset bank's president and CEO.


MIDWEST

First Financial Bancorp in Cincinnati has hired Kenneth Lovik as its vice president of investor relations and corporate development.

Lovik was an investment banker at Milestone Advisors LLC and, before that, at Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett Inc.

First Financial has $6.6 billion of assets.


SOUTHEAST

BankUnited in Miami Lakes, Fla., has hired Mickey Filippucci as a vice president and private banker.

Filippucci was the chief financial officer of enChoice, a software and technology solutions company. Before that he was a vice president of investments at Morgan Stanley in Coral Gables, Fla.

BankUnited has $11.1 billion of assets.


First Horizon National Corp. in Memphis has promoted Greg Jardine to chief credit officer.

Jardine had been the executive vice president of credit portfolio management since joining the company last October. Before that he was the senior vice president and senior risk officer of credit and counterparty risk for the former Wachovia Corp.'s capital management and wealth management lines of business.

He succeeds Greg Olivier, who left the company to accept a post at First Southern Bank in Boca Raton, Fla.


Congaree State Bancshares Inc. in West Columbia, S.C., has hired Charles A. Kirby as president and chief executive officer of the company and its Congaree State Bank.

Kirby's last job, from which he retired in January 2009, was area executive at BB&T Corp. for the commercial markets in Lexington, Newberry and McCormick counties. He joined BB&T in 1995 when the company bought his previous employer, Lexington State Bank. Before BB&T bought Lexington, Kirby had been its executive officer and senior vice president of credit function and branch administration.

Kirby succeeded Charlie T. Lovering as president and CEO of the $138 million-asset company and bank. Lovering will remain the executive vice president and chief financial officer of both entities.


WEST

Sunwest Bank in Tustin, Calif., has hired Kendra Coffey as senior vice president of bank operations and Andrew Lamb as senior vice president and relationship manager in its Newport Beach office.

Coffey was the vice president of member services in the operations division of Kinecta Federal Credit Union in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Before that she had been a vice president and manager in Washington Mutual Inc.'s banking service center.

Lamb was a senior vice president of Pacific Mercantile Bank in Costa Mesa, Calif. He began his career at California First Bank in Irvine as an assistant vice president and commercial loan officer.

Sunwest has $649 million of assets.
