Harleysville National Corp. in Pennsylvania has made president Gregg J. Wagner its chief executive officer too.

He succeeded Walter E. Daller Jr., who remains the chairman of the company and its $3 billion-asset Harleysville National Bank.

Mr. Wagner gave up the title of chief operating officer to Michael High, an executive vice president. Mr. High will remain the holding company's chief financial officer until a successor is found.


Bryn Mawr Bank Corp. in Pennsylvania has hired J. Duncan Smith as the chief financial officer and treasurer of the company and its $683 million-asset Bryn Mawr Trust Co.Mr. Smith had the same jobs at First Chester County Corp. of West Chester, Pa. He was also the executive vice president of the financial support services division of its $803 million-asset First National Bank of Chester County.

He has 24 years of experience in the financial services industry.


SOUTHEASTBank of Hiawassee in the Georgia city of that name has hired Jeff Patterson as its president, succeeding Lauch McKinnon, who has retired.

Mr. Patterson was the executive vice president of credit administration for the banking operations of United Community Banks Inc. in its headquarter city, Blairsville.

Bank of Hiawassee has $281 million of assets. Its holding company is Chatuge Bank Shares Inc.


Midtown Bank and Trust Co. of Atlanta has hired R. Stan Kryder as its chief executive officer and a director.Mr. Kryder came from AmSouth Bancorp. of Birmingham, Ala. He was its executive for Florida's west coast and for branch expansion in the state.

Earlier he had worked for 13 years at First Union Corp. (now Wachovia Corp.). He had been the senior vice president of the Charlotte company's wholesale lending division and, earlier, the head of general banking for its Georgia operations.

Midtown, founded in 2003, has $55 million of assets.


PAB Bankshares Inc. of Valdosta, Ga., has named Douglas W. McNeill to its board.Mr. McNeill has been the president of Case Pomeroy Properties of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., since 1993. The real estate development and investment firm is a unit of the New York investment firm Case, Pomeroy & Co. Inc.

PAB owns Park Avenue Bank, which has $868 million of assets.


SOUTHWESTTexas Regional Bancshares Inc. of McAllen has hired John A. Martin as its chief financial officer and an executive vice president.

He succeeded R.T. Pigott Jr., who has left the company.

Mr. Martin had been a partner at Smith Fankhauser Voigt & Watson PLLC, a consulting firm in McAllen, since 1984. Texas Regional had been one of his clients.

Texas Regional owns Texas State Bank, which has $5.8 billion of assets.


WESTCommerceWest Bank of Irvine, Calif., has hired Rene V. Garcia as its chief financial officer and an executive vice president.

Mr. Garcia joined the $125 million-asset bank from Sunwest Bank of Tustin, Calif., where for the past five years he had been the controller and a vice president.


Mid-State Bank and Trust of Arroyo Grande, Calif., has promoted Steven Harding from senior to executive vice president.Mr. Harding has been its director of corporate banking since 1997. He had joined the bank, whose holding company is Mid-State Bancshares, four years earlier as a loan officer.

The $2.3 billion bank has also made Jeff DeVine a senior vice president. Mr. DeVine, who remains a commercial banking team manager, reports to Mr. Harding.


MIDWESTMarine Bank of Wauwatosa, Wis., said Michael J. Miller, who had been its interim president and chief executive officer since Sept. 17, is no longer interim.

He had taken over from Greg Kolton, who had resigned in July.

Mr. Miller remains the chief lending officer, his job since joining the bank as an executive vice president in 2003. Before that he had been a senior vice president and department manager at U.S. Bank, responsible for a $600 million middle-market loan portfolio. Earlier he had held various jobs over 21 years at Bank One, where his banking career began in 1976.

Marine Bank has $278 million of assets and is owned by the multibank CIB Marine Bancshares Inc. of Pewaukee.
