Ms. Sexton worked in Durham, N.C., as a first vice president of business and group banking for National Commerce Financial Corp. of Memphis. (SunTrust Banks Inc. of Atlanta bought National Commerce in October.) She has 30 years of banking experience.
SOUTHEASTBankUnited of Coral Gables, Fla., has hired Diane Don as the manager of its newly formed law firm practice group.
She will lead the bank's business-development and private banking efforts in the legal industry.
Ms. Don was a senior vice president at Wachovia Bank's legal specialty group. Earlier she had been a director of Citibank's law firm group. She has 28 years of banking experience.

SOUTHWESTIberiabank of Lafayette, La., has hired Mark D. Evans as the president of its Shreveport, La., market.
Mr. Evans was a senior vice president and a commercial sales manager for north and central Louisiana, east Texas, and south Arkansas at AmSouth Bank.
Before that he had been a corporate banker at Bank One in Dallas.
