People's Bank of Bridgeport, Conn., has hired Joseph Maxwell as the chief investment officer of its wealth and trust business.
Mr. Maxwell was the CIO of the $166 million-asset Christiana Bank and Trust Co. of Greenville, Del. Earlier he had worked at PNC Bank, Wachovia Bank, and Meridian Investment Management Co.
People's Bank has also promoted Linda M Cheever from vice president to first vice president. She remains the senior financial officer of the finance division for the $11 billion-asset unit of People's Mutual Holdings.
MIDWESTBankFirst of Sioux Falls, S.D., has hired John Barbella as the senior vice president of its stored-value solutions division.
Mr. Barbella will develop and implement business opportunities in prepaid cards. He will be based in Minneapolis, where the $510 million-asset bank's parent, Marshall BankFirst Corp., is located.
He was the director of business development at Deluxe Corp., a Shoreview, Minn., company that calls itself the largest check printer in the United States. Before that he had been the director of client marketing of Deluxe, where he worked for 15 years.
MIDDLE ATLANTICWSFS Financial Corp. of Wilmington, Del., has hired Richard M. Wright as the executive vice president of its retail services division.
Mr. Wright came to the $2.8 billion-asset parent of Wilmington Savings Fund Society from DNB First, a $474 million-asset Downingtown, Pa., unit of DNB Financial Corp. He had been the bank's executive vice president of retail banking and marketing.
Before that he had been the senior vice president of marketing at Firstrust Savings Bank of Conshohocken. Earlier he had worked at Saudi Hollandi Bank of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Mellon Bank, and Old Kent Bank, which Fifth Third Bancorp bought in 2001.
WESTValley Bank in Las Vegas has promoted Greg Schultz to chief lending officer and made him an executive vice president.
Mr. Schultz, who joined the $390 million-asset unit of Valley Bancorp in 2002, was a senior vice president and its senior real estate lending officer.
