PrivateBancorp Inc. of Chicago has hired Colleen Kelty and Lori S. Tuffield as managing directors of the treasury management services group of its PrivateBank and Trust Co.

Ms. Kelty was a senior vice president in LaSalle Bank Corp.'s treasury management department and the head of public fund sales for financial institutions.

Ms. Tuffield was the senior vice president of LaSalle's treasury management advisory group. Before that she had been the director of the Chicago domestic sales group at LaSalle, which she joined when ABN Amro Holding NV bought it in 1992 and merged it with its Exchange National Bank. Earlier, she had been a cash management relationship officer with Exchange National.

PrivateBancorp has $4.5 billion of assets.


MIDDLE ATLANTICWilmington Trust Corp. in Delaware has promoted Mark A. Graham and Robert M. Balentine to executive vice presidents.

Mr. Graham will lead its wealth advisory services arm.

Mr. Balentine will remain the chairman and chief executive officer of its investment management business.

Mr. Graham was the head of wealth management and commercial banking for the Middle Atlantic region.

In 1998 he was put in charge of establishing the company's wealth management and commercial banking operations in southeastern Pennsylvania, and he led an expansion into Doylestown in 2000 and the Lehigh Valley in 2006.

He joined the $9.8 billion-asset Wilmington Trust in 1983.

Mr. Balentine joined Wilmington Trust in 2002, when it bought Balentine & Co., where he had been the chairman and CEO.

Before establishing Balentine, he had been a vice president at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner, & Smith Inc.

 


 Oritani Savings Bank of Washington Township, N.J., has promoted Thomas Guinan to executive vice president and chief lending officer.

Mr. Guinan has worked for the $1.2 billion-asset Oritani since 2003, when he joined as a senior vice president and the chief commercial loan officer.

 


 Republic First Bancorp Inc., the Philadelphia holding company for Republic First Bank, has promoted Carol Hunter to chief credit officer and senior vice president.

Ms. Hunter joined Republic First Bank last year as a senior credit officer and vice president. Before that she had worked for PNC Bank in Pittsburgh as a commercial lender.


WESTDiscovery Bancorp of San Marcos, Calif., has hired Frank J. Mercardante as the president and chief executive officer of its Discovery Bank.

He also joined the boards of the $178 million-asset holding company and two of its units: Discovery Bank and Celtic Capital Corp.

Mr. Mercardante was the president and CEO of Placer Sierra Bank.

He joined the bank in 2006, when it bought Southwest Community Bank in Encinitas, where he had been a founding director and the president and CEO. Wells Fargo & Co. bought Placer in June.

 


 Pacific Coast National Bank of San Clemente, Calif., has hired Darlene J. Ryan as the senior vice president and regional manager in charge of its main branch.

She also will assist in expanding the $89 million-asset bank's commercial client base in Orange County.

Ms. Ryan joined Pacific from Vineyard National Bancorp in Corona. She had been the senior vice president and relationship manager at Vineyard since 2002.
