Experian Taps Chief for North America

Experian PLC, the world's top credit-checking company, said Wednesday that it had appointed Victor Nichols as chief executive of its North America unit, the company's largest market.

Nichols, currently head of the company's United Kingdom and Ireland unit, moves to the North America division after Experian said it expects activity from financial services to "increase." The decline in organic revenue in North America was 2% for the first half of the year.

The company also appointed Francisco Valim, the president of its Brazilian credit bureau, as regional CEO responsible for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

The appointments "will help us to share knowledge and expertise around the world and, at the same time, to position us firmly for growth," Experian CEO Don Robert said in a press release.
