FHFA Now Official

WASHINGTON — The supervisory agency of the Federal Home Loan Banks was officially merged Monday into the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

As part of the merger, FHFA Director James Lockhart named Steve Cross as the agency's deputy director in charge of the Home Loan banks. Mr. Cross is the former head of supervision at the Federal Housing Finance Board.

Mr. Lockhart also appointed Edward DeMarco as the FHFA's senior deputy director, chief operating officer and deputy director for housing mission and goals; Chris Dickerson as the deputy director in charge of Fannie and Freddie and David Lee as the chief administrative officer.
