Fidelity Trimming Bond Trading Fees

Fidelity Investments is cutting retail fees for secondary market bond trades.

The Boston fund company's retail brokerage unit announced Monday that starting Nov. 9 online trades of U.S. Treasuries, currently 50 cents per bond, will be free, and online trades of municipal, corporate and high-yield bonds, currently $2 per bond, will be $1.50 per bond.

Fees for trades assisted by representatives are also being cut.

Fidelity has $1.5 trillion of assets under management.
