First Business in Wisconsin Hires CFO

First Business Financial Services in Madison, Wis., said it has hired Edward Sloane Jr. to be its next chief financial officer.

Sloane will succeed James Ropella, who is retiring, on Jan. 19, the $1.2 billion-asset bank said Thursday.

Previously, Sloane was CFO and treasurer at Peoples Bancorp in Marietta, Ohio. Before that he was senior vice president of strategic planning at WesBanco in Wheeling, W.Va.

Ropella will be senior vice president and treasurer with First Business through a transitional period and then serve it as a consultant, said Barbara Conley, a spokeswoman for the bank.
