First Business in Wis. Hires Former Taylor Capital Exec for CFO

First Business Financial Services in Madison, Wis., has appointed David Papritz as chief financial officer and senior vice president of corporate development.

Papritz most recently served as the director of corporate development and investor relations at Taylor Capital, which was bought last month by the $9.8 billion-asset MB Financial.

Papritz's appointment at the $1.3 billion-asset First Business will take effect on Sept. 23.

"David's experience and expertise are an ideal fit for First Business as we focus on strategic growth opportunities that deliver long-term shareholder value while enhancing our client offerings," Corey Chambas, the chief executive at First Business, said in a news release Tuesday.

Before working at Taylor Capital, Papritz was a managing director at Raymond James, where he advised banks with assets ranging from $150 million to $20 billion.

In his new role, Papritz replaces James Ropella, who announced his retirement in February. Ropella will remain with First Financial through the end of the year, and will serve as a consultant to the bank in 2015.
