First Data's international division will handle all of Lenovo's online payment processing. Lenovo, the third-largest personal computer company, shifted to the First Data system in March.

ABN Amro Holding NV is serving as Lenovo's acquiring bank, providing it with treasury, investment management, and trade services.

Alex Holmes a vice president and the chief of staff for First Data International, said in an interview that for large merchants that sell products in multiple countries, using his company as a processor gives "them a way to consolidate the back office processing expenses of dealing across those regions, by offering them one processor to deal with regardless of what country or currency the transaction originates in."
