First Data Corp. has received clearance to offer payment card services to local governments, universities, police departments and charities in the U.K.
The Atlanta processor said June 1 that the Office of Government Commerce had named it as a supplier in the payment card solutions and associated services contract, which includes about 1,200 public organizations.
Organizations that choose First Data to manage their card programs can monitor card use and have daily access to transaction records.
