First Horizon Hires CFO from Regions

D. Bryan Jordan, the chief financial officer at Regions Financial Corp., is leaving the Birmingham, Ala., company to take the same post at First Horizon National Corp. in Memphis.

Gerald L. Baker, the president and chief executive at First Horizon, said in an interview that Mr. Jordan would join the $38 billion-asset company in early May. He will succeed Marty Mosby, who said in September that he would step down as the CFO to move to First Horizon's capital markets division.

Mr. Baker, who became the CEO in January, said Mr. Jordan "has potential" to take that job eventually, though other senior executives also would be considered. Mr. Baker is less than two years away from First Horizon's mandatory retirement age, though he has said he wants to invoke an exemption in the bylaws to extend his tenure.

Mr. Jordan, 45, has been the $143 billion-asset Regions' CFO since 2002 and is one of the few remaining members of the management team that bought AmSouth Bancorp. of Birmingham in November.

Regions said Alton E. Yother, 54, will succeed Mr. Jordan. Mr. Yother had been the company's controller and a former CFO at AmSouth.
