First Horizon to Use CheckFree Product

First Horizon National Corp. of Memphis agreed to use check conversion software from the Atlanta technology and bill-payment provider CheckFree Corp.

CheckFree said Monday that First Horizon will be one of the first financial companies to use the PEPreACH/BOC application to let merchants convert checks into automated clearing house transactions in their back offices.

Back-office conversion is authorized under rules from Nacha, the electronic payments organization, which took effect in March.

First Horizon also will use a CheckFree risk compliance application in conjunction with the conversion software.
