First Sentry Bancshares in Huntington, W.Va., has agreed to buy Rock Branch Community Bank in Nitro, W.Va.
The $508 million-asset First Sentry will pay $7.4 million in cash and stock for the $75 million-asset Rock Branch, it said Monday.
Acquiring Rock Branch would give First Sentry its first retail branches in Putnam County, W.Va. Rock Branch, established in 1996, has two branches, in Nitro and Scott Depot.

Summit Financial Group in Moorefield, W.Va., has agreed to buy Highland County Bankshares in Monterey, Va., for $21.8 million in cash. The deal is expected to close early in the third quarter.
