Firstbank of Illinois Plans a Consolidation
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Firstbank of Illinois Co. said it plans to consolidate its banking operations in the East St. Louis, Ill., area into one bank that will operate 11 branches in Madison, St. Clair, and Monroe counties.
The new bank, which has not been named, will have about $430 million in assets and headquarters in Fairview Heights, Ill.
The institution will combine Central Bank and the United Illinois Banks of Collinsville and New Athens, which Firstbank acquired in 1986.
