Fiserv Inc. and Bank of America Corp. have started settling check images through the network operated by Viewpointe Archive Services LLC.

Fiserv said Thursday that it has connected its clearing network to Viewpointe through the Pointe2Pointe service, which gives non-Viewpointe members access to the Charlotte archive.
The connection also lets B of A, the banking industry's largest item processor, settle checks with the thousands of smaller banking companies that outsource their item processing to Fiserv, the Brookfield, Wis., vendor said.
