Core vendors continue to blaze a migration trail for community financial institutions into mobile banking. Following the path already trekked by Jack Henry & Associates (GoDough) and Harland Financial (Cavion Mobile Banking Professional), Fiserv’s ITI unit has now launched its integrated Premier Mobile Banking platform. The Fiserv solution is a browser-based product that’ll cover account balance information, transaction views, alert capabilities and the ability to transfer intra-bank account funds. The application is being private-labeled through Fiserv’s core banking units, including ITI and Fiserv VISION. One key feature of Premier that is also part of the community banking mobile trend: carrier independence.
Fiserv’s product has been in place at a Grand Rapids, MI community bank, United Bank, since last fall. United claims to be signing up all of its new customers with the service, which the bank took up to counter the launch of rival mobile banking services from major national bank branches in the market, according to Fiserv.
