Fiserv Inc. said Tuesday that it would begin delivering electronic statements through bank and credit union websites for Discover Financial Services card accounts.
Discover customers who pay their bills through bank websites would see an icon to alert them of the change if their bank uses Fiserv for online bill payment. The e-bills carry the same information as paper statements.
People would be able to schedule payments for a set date and receive e-mail reminders as the date approaches, Fiserv said. The Brookfield, Wis., vendor has more than 3,000 bank and credit union customers for its online bill payment services.
"Fiserv research shows that one-third of online bill pay users now receive at least one e-bill and that consumer interest has increased over the past two years," Jardon Bouska, the president of the biller solutions division at Fiserv, said in a press release.
