Former Treasury Chief Geithner Selling D.C. Home

Former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has been gone from the Obama administration since January. But apparently he is also saying farewell to the Washington real estate scene.

According to published reports, Geithner and his wife are attempting to sell a home in Bethesda, Md., for an asking price of $950,000. The home, which they purchased four years ago, has four bedrooms, two and a half baths and two rec rooms. The listing was first reported by the Curbed DC real estate blog.

A previous listing by Geithner gained some attention in 2009 when, after being appointed, a home he was trying to sell outside of New York City had an extended stay on the market until the couple decided to rent it out.

"Since the housing market has improved, they'll probably have better luck selling this time," Roxanne Roberts wrote March 19 on the Washington Post's Reliable Source blog.
